On the eve of Valentine’s Day, No. 7 Penn State took the heart out of Sacred Heart, winning the match in four sets. It was the third EIVA win for the Nittany Lions (8-2, 3-0 EIVA).
After not playing in last weekend’s match against Mount Olive, sophomore Jalen Penrose bounced back in a big way. Penrose led the Lions in kills with 13, only needing 22 total attacks for 40 percent hitting. The sophomore also added five digs and three blocks.
Both Chris Nugent and Matthew McLaren had good matches as well, earning 12 kills apiece. Nugent led the Lions in total attacks with 30, while McLaren had 24.
