Penn State men's tennis beats Colgate in season opener

Penn State opened its spring season with a sweep.

The Nittany Lions kicked off 2018 with a bang, defeating Colgate 4-0 in singles and winning 3-0 in doubles (7-0 overall).

Penn State began strong off the bat as the doubles teams of Gabriel Nemeth/Zach Lieb and Chris Kuhnle/Noah Sutter built upon big leads.

While the match-up between the Nittany Lions’s Matt Galush/Alp Sentay and Colgate’s Scott Bickel/Noah Rosenblat was tight throughout. The Nittany Lions secured a victory with a narrow 7-6 win.

Penn State entered the intermission up 1-0 on the day after Nemeth/Lieb won 6-1 against Colgate's Jacob Daugherty/Tyler Krantz and the team of Kuhnle/Sutter also earned a 6-3 win against Daugherty/Krantz.
