In a week where Penn State played two of the nation’s top five teams, the Nittany Lions came up short in both matchups.
Wednesday’s matchup with No. 5 Michigan State ended 1-0 while Sunday’s contest against No. 2 Indiana finished 2-0 in favor of the Hoosiers.
There was a common theme through both — Penn State’s inability to compete offensively.
The Nittany Lions were outshot 30-9 in both games combined and was out-possessed as well.
The Spartans piled on shot after shot throughout the entirety of the game and forced Penn State to play very defensively.
