Sophomore Will Schreiner earned the Big Ten Specialist of the Week honors Tuesday, marking the third time the goalie has won the award this season.
In Penn State’s 6-5 win at Ohio State Sunday, Schreiner made a career-high 15 saves. In the fourth quarter, the sophomore made six saves, also reaching a season-high benchmark in a single frame.
In the low-scoring victory, Schreiner allowed only five goals, the lowest the Nittany Lions (7-3, 1-0 Big Ten) have seen this season.
The award marks the sixth weekly honor a Lion received in the 2016 season.
