On Sunday night, freshman goalie Colby Kneese made 13 saves in front of 3,172 jammed fans onto a grassy hill in Happy Valley to lift the second-ranked Nittany Lions to a 9-4 win over the fifth-ranked Buckeyes.
The impressive goaltending performance came nearly a year after former starting goaltender Will Schreiner had the game of his career against Ohio State, making 15 saves to propel the Nittany Lions to a 6-5 win in front of over 100,000 empty seats in the Horseshoe during last season's Big Ten opener.
“Coach really got on me about not taking a play off in practice,” Kneese said.
