There were a lot of firsts for No. 20 Penn State on Saturday in Ithaca, New York against No. 18 Cornell.
It was the Nittany Lions' first away game, first matchup with a ranked opponent this season, Cornell’s first game of the year, and it was Lions' first time giving up the first goal of the game.
On the strength of a five-goal third quarter run, the Lions prevailed in a tightly-contested, back-and-forth 8-7 contest.
It didn’t take long for the Big Red (0-1) to open up the scoring as Domenic Massimilian found the back of the net just six seconds into the contest.
