Five days after securing its first ever Big Ten regular season title, No. 1 Penn State moves on to contend for its next accolade. The Nittany Lions have a rematch with Rutgers in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament on Thursday at 5 p.m. in Piscataway, N.J.
The two teams won’t have much time to stop and take a breath after competing in a razor-thin battle that ended in a 14-13 Penn State win on Saturday.
Neither team was able to pull away on the scoreboard, but late heroics from goalie Colby Kneese, who had five fourth-quarter saves, and midfielder Jack Kelly, who scored the last goal of the game with 40 seconds left, sealed Penn State’s first undefeated conference run in program history.
