The defensemen finally got back on track.
Two weeks ago, Penn State’s top-scoring defenseman Vince Pedrie rolled his ankle in practice and was ruled out for the remainder of the season.
In the four regular season games he missed, Penn State (21-12-4, 11-9-1-0) defensemen accounted for just two points — both assists — from David Thompson and Kevin Kerr in the Nittany Lions' series against Wisconsin earlier this month.
On Thursday though, Kerr, Luke Juha and Connor Varley, who scored a goal in the first period, all got on the score sheet as the Lions defeated the Badgers (8-19-8, 3-14-4-0) 5-2 to advance to the semifinals against Michigan on Friday night.
