After last night's contest ended in a tie, Saturday night’s matchup between Penn State and No. 3 Notre Dame looked similar as the two teams played into overtime again to try to determine a winner.
But this time, the Nittany Lions came out on top to upset the Fighting Irish 3-2.
With the score tied 2-2 at the end of regulation, the Lions started out the overtime period halfway into a power play caused by the Irish having too many men on the ice at the end of the third period.
Even though the Irish killed the penalty, the clock continued to tick down and sophomore Andrew Sturtz scored the game winning rebound goal tight to Notre Dame’s net.
