Penn State swept Canisius in a two-game home series, further solidifying its capabilities in non-conference play while gearing up for the challenges that await in the Big Ten.

Friday night’s weekend opener saw Penn State dominate on both ends of the ice from start to finish, kicking off the series with a 4-0 shutout, mostly thanks in part to a hat-trick from sophomore forward, Aiden Fink.

Fink, hailing from Alberta, Canada, achieved the 14th hat-trick in the history of Penn State hockey, and became the first player in the program’s history to register multiple career hat-tricks.

His feat also extended his point streak to a career-long seven games, cementing his importance to the team’s ability to put pucks in the net.
