In an event that combines the intensity of the Army-Navy rivalry with the competitive nature of Division I hockey, Penn State and Army are set to collide in the inaugural Capital Hockey Classic in Washington, D.C.
For the Nittany Lions, the excitement extends beyond the historical significance of the matchup.
Team captain Simon Mack emphasized how special it is to represent Penn State on such a stage while reflecting on the unparalleled atmosphere at their home arena.
“Playing at Pegula, is as close to, if not better, in some ways, than professional hockey and playing in NHL arenas like that,” Mack said.
