Penn State men’s hockey pays for uninspired first period

Penn State was 52 seconds from escaping the first period despite playing one of its worst periods of the season against Michigan State on Saturday.

But instead of heading to the locker room with the game tied, the Nittany Lions found themselves down 3-1 and were never able to recover, losing 6-4 to Michigan State.

"I think that was the worst mentality that we've come out with and obviously that's my responsibility to make sure that we're ready to play at the drop of the puck and clearly we weren't and clearly Michigan State was,” Guy Gadowsky said.
