For the first time since becoming a Division I program, Penn State competed in an outdoor hockey game. The Frozen Confines took place on the same ice as the 2024 Winter Classic at the 111-year-old Wrigley Field in Chicago.
“I feel grateful to be a part of Penn State and the Big Ten,” coach Guy Gadowsky said. “We’re grateful to participate in something that’s this cool”
The Nittany Lions took on Notre Dame, a program that’s no stranger to playing outdoor hockey, as it hosted an outdoor contest against Michigan in 2019.
