For just the second time this century, the Big Ten scoring champion is back in Happy Valley.
Tony Carr’s surgence as a sophomore in the Big Ten has taken him all the way to the top of the scoring chart in the conference.
The sophomore point guard becomes the first Big Ten scoring champ since Joe Crispin in 2001. While D.J. Newbill was the scoring leader in 2014-15, Ohio State’s D’Angelo Russell averaged more points per game in conference play, making him the conference’s scoring champion that season.
After scoring 27 points in Penn State’s loss at Nebraska on Sunday night, Carr finished as the Big Ten’s leading scorer in conference play, narrowly coming ahead of Ohio State’s Keita Bates-Diop and the Cornhuskers’ James Palmer Jr.
