With his team trailing by four points with 16 seconds left in the game, Penn State’s Davis Zemgulis motored to the hoop and missed a layup.
Wisconsin’s Ethan Happ rebounded the shot and was fouled. He made both free throws to give the Badgers a six-point lead with 15 seconds left to play.
Four seconds later, Zemgulis clanked a 3-point attempt off the glass, which fell into the hands of Badgers’ guard Zak Showalter to seal the game for his team, 66-60.
“There’s no doubt I’m proud of the fight,” Nittany Lions coach Patrick Chambers said.
