Penn State men's basketball's Big Ten Tournament run comes to an end in semifinal loss to Purdue

New York — Facing a Purdue squad, prolific for its tetrad of starting seniors, not even a career game from Penn State’s lone senior starter Shep Garner was enough to push the Nittany Lions past the Boilermakers in the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament as Purdue pulled away to a 78-70 victory.

Perhaps the result of a grinding victory against the Buckeyes a night prior and an additional opening round game versus Northwestern that Purdue did not have to play, the Nittany Lions stepped onto the Madison Square Garden court with their slowest start of the tournament.
