After two straight demoralizing losses, Penn State put the pieces together to win at an unlikely time.
Penn State (11-8, 2-4 Big Ten) cruised to an upset victory at Northwestern (15-4, 3-3 Big Ten), 71-62, for its first Big Ten road victory of the season. Forward Brandon Taylor led the Nittany Lions with 19 points, including four baskets from beyond the arc.
"Brandon Taylor, when he's making 3's, when he's playing inside and he's doing it all for us, that's a tough matchup for a lot of teams," Lions coach Patrick Chambers told ESPN.
The Wildcats, a contender for a selection in the NCAA tournament, went just 3-for-26 on three-point shooting and had no triples from their bench.
