Penn State Men’s Basketball to Hire Kevin Freeman as New Assistant Coach

Following the departure of Dwayne Anderson, Pat Chambers had some work to do this off-season in order to replace the talented assistant coach and recruiter of the DMV. Few were surprised to see Anderson return to his Alma Mater at Villanova, but there was some concern about who Chambers would bring in to fill an important role on the staff.

Enter Kevin Freeman.

Freeman leaves UConn, where he was the Assistant Men’s Basketball Director of Operations. He handled scheduling of games and practices, and coordinated between the university and the basketball team.

Freeman was a member of 1999 UConn Men’s Basketball team that won the national championship, and we can hope that he brings that championship mentality to State College.
