By the time the final buzzer sounded inside the famed walls of the Palestra on Saturday afternoon, Penn State had claimed victory in far more ways than one.
The Nittany Lions were not only able to take down a perennial national powerhouse program in Michigan State, but they also found momentum after losing it at the start of Big Ten play.
Leading into conference play, the Lions picked up back-to-back wins against St. John’s and Morgan State, in which they scored over 90 points. It was the first time since the beginning of the 1995-96 season the program had notched back-to-back 90-point scoring efforts.
