Coach Patrick Chambers praised his young team on Wednesday at Penn State men’s basketball media day.
The team has been energized this year with three incoming freshmen — Tony Carr, Lamar Stevens and Nazeer Bostick — who all played together at Roman Catholic High School in Philadelphia.
Chambers said he is pleased with how the newcomers have adjusted so far this preseason to the college life and game.
“It’s high school to the Big Ten, it’s a leap, that’s a jump” Chambers said. “I think they are adapting”
Chambers brought up a rookie transition program he is using to have his younger players pair up with older players to help them adjust to college life.
