For many of Penn State's players, the Palestra feels like home.
And on Saturday, The Nittany Lions turned the famed Philadelphia field house into Rec Hall East, as they defeated Michigan State 72-63 in a neutral site game.
But the location was anything but neutral.
The Penn State crowd got into it from the beginning after Mike Watkins — one of the six Philadelphia natives on the Lions' roster — was able to get to the rim on three successful shot attempts just two minutes into the game.
It got even louder when junior Shep Garner, another Philly native, notched his 1,000th career point on a jumper with just over 12 minutes left in the half.
