Penn State has taken significant strides over the past year, and this growth was once again evident during its 86-66 win over Penn.
Plagued by woeful 0-of-9 3-point shooting, the Nittany Lions entered the locker room at halftime with just a 34-31 lead over a Quakers team that came into the contest as the 12th-worst scoring offense in the nation.
Penn only managed to covert 28% of its first half triples, but the five shots it did make came on plays where the Penn State defense was repeateldy out-of-sync.
This combination of offensive and defensive inconsistencies initially had the home team on the ropes.
