Throughout tonight’s 86-74 loss to the Radford Highlanders in the Bryce Jordan Center, Penn State (2-2) fans were cringing at what felt like déjà vu from Friday night’s loss to Duquesne.
After Duquesne handed the Nittany Lions (2-2) their first loss of the season thanks to 17 3-pointers, the Highlanders (4-2) opened tonight’s contest with seven 3-pointers in the first half. Fourteen of the Highlanders 37 first half points came from senior guard Cameron Jones, who finished the night with a game-high 23 points and five 3-pointers.
Lions coach Patrick Chambers tried to switch around his defensive strategies in the first half to counter the Highlanders offense, but was unable to find consistent success.
