Penn State has a new force on the glass after a 2016-17 season in which the Nittany Lions were one of the worst rebounding teams in the Big Ten.
Enter redshirt junior Satchel Pierce, a transfer from Virginia Tech, pair him with established forward Mike Watkins, and Penn State should see a marked improvement down low.
“They’re both very big,” freshman forward John Harrar said. “I think rebounding they can control both offensively and defensively. Mike’s definitely been working on expanding his game. Both he and Satchel can hit elbow jump shots. It’ll definitely be interesting.”
Pierce, the lone 7-footer on the Penn State roster, averaged 1.
