Penn State hired one assistant football coach, promoted another and reassigned a third Thursday.
Ja’Juan Seider was brought in as running backs coach after filling the same role at Florida, while defensive line coach Sean Spencer was named associate head coach and David Corley, hired earlier this month from Army to coach the running backs, was moved to wide receivers coach.
Seider replaces Josh Gattis, who took a job at Alabama. In addition to his coaching duties, Seider is expected to take on recruiting responsibilities in south Florida, a talent-rich area.
“Ja’Juan has a quiet confidence and a natural charisma that will relate well to our running backs,” coach James Franklin said in a prepared statement.
