Penn State lands New Year's Day commitment from 2018 4-star safety Isaiah Humphries

Isaiah Humphries has committed to Penn State.

The class of 2018 four-star safety and Sachse, Texas Junior is a legacy recruit, as his dad, Leonard, was a defensive back for the Nittany Lions in the 1990s.

It was known that the junior would commit on New Year's Day, but his just-passed midnight pledge gives Penn State a nice boost of momentum as it prepares to face USC in the Rose Bowl.

Isaiah Humphries is the Lions' seventh class of 2018 verbal commitment. They remain the nation's top 2018 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite.

"I've realized that there aren't many opportunities to play in front of 107,000+ regularly, and with that be a part of a legendary recruiting class, Humphries wrote on Twitter.
