Penn State has landed commitment No. 21 in its recruiting Class of 2018.
The new pledge is Frederick "Juice" Scruggs, a four-star center from Erie, Pa., Cathedral Prep. The 6-foot-3, 270-pound prospect plays tackle in high school (as most of the best prep linemen tend to do) but seems destined to play inside at the next level, and scouting services are already raving about his potential to do so.
"He is quick and explosive at the snap, he is powerful and he has excellent feet," Scout national analyst Brian Dohn writes in an evaluation. "He is quick and clean with his footwork, and he is rarely off balance because he gets them underneath himself so quickly.
