Penn State and former Nittany Lions defensive coordinator Bob Shoop have settled their longstanding lawsuit related to the coach’s employment with the football program.
The terms of the settlement will remain confidential, but according to a statement released by the university Friday morning, Shoop “recognizes obligations under his employment contract with Penn State.”
The university sued Shoop back in June, claiming the coach owed Penn State $891,856 and breached his contract. He resigned on Jan. 10, 2016 to accept the defensive coordinator job with Tennessee.
Shoop then counterclaimed in July for damages in excess of $75,000.
