When Trace McSorley took the quarterback reins in 2016, Penn State football had compiled a record of 45-31 since 2009 and a record of just 14-12 in the first two years under James Franklin. The team hadn’t seen a 10-plus win season since Daryll Clark put up back-to-back 11-2 seasons in 2008-2009. Since McSorley took over, he’s gone 29-8. Some have given much of the credit for the wins to the players around him and others have said he’s part of a fantastic offensive system.
To those who say that and doubt him, I say McSorley deserves major credit for what this team has done over the last three years.
