Penn State enters the 2018 season without the services of running back Saquon Barkley, who was the No. 2 overall pick in the NFL Draft. Fortunately, quarterback Trace McSorley returns after two huge seasons and is ready to lead the Nittany Lions once more.
The preseason hype machine surrounding McSorley is already in full swing. Thought of as an early candidate for the Heisman Trophy, the senior quarterback is also on several preseason watch lists. McSorley is up for the Maxwell Award, the Davey O’Brien Award, and the Wuerffel Trophy.
Added to the list of recognition for McSorley is the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.
