Tommy Stevens made last spring’s quarterback competition interesting, but he came up short to Trace McSorley. Stevens may not be the starter until his senior season in Happy Valley, but he can still make an impact on offense.
In 2016, the Nittany Lions used him in mop-up duty and gimmicky situations and there could be an increase of that. With McSorley entrenched in the starting quarterback spot, Stevens won’t see the field much under center. I’m not saying Penn State will use him at all with McSorley on the field, but it’s fun to explore the team’s options with him.
