Monday afternoon, five-star linebacker Brandon Smith gave his commitment to Penn State.
Rated as the No. 2 inside linebacker and the best available from his home state, Smith garnered interest from all of the top programs. Alabama, Ohio State, Auburn and Notre Dame all offered him a scholarship. However, in the end, his choice ultimately came down to Penn State or Florida State.
Smith picked up his Penn State offer last April and made four visits to Happy Valley since that time.
