James Franklin and Penn State hit a home run in recruiting with the signing of running back Ricky Slade. Not only did Slade stay true to his commitment, but he signed during the early signing period and then enrolled at the school in January.
Keeping Slade was a major win for Franklin, as some of the top schools in the country were coming after him. Ohio State, Miami, Michigan State, Florida and Virginia Tech all made offers to the talented running back.
Ranked as the No. 25 recruit in the 2018 class and the second-best running back available, Slade is poised to keep Penn State’s streak of talented running backs alive.
