Much of Penn State’s 2018 recruiting class focused on the defensive side of the ball, particularly on the defensive line. However, the Nittany Lions made sure to go after one of the top available offensive linemen in the nation. Fredrick Scruggs from Cathedral Prep in Erie, PA kept his commitment to Penn State and signed with the Nittany Lions during the early signing period.
Known as “Juice,” Scruggs was rated as a four-star prospect by 247 Sports and the No. 4 center. He checked in at No. 231 in the national composite rankings.
Scruggs made several unofficial visits to Penn State before committing in August.
