Every year, the Big Ten Conference looks for ways to honor student-athletes for their contributions on and off the field. This specific annual award seeks to honor one male and one female athlete for their outstanding sportsmanship from the previous season. While more than 350 student-athletes are nominated for the award from their respective program — only 28 players become finalists.
Former Penn State Football safety Nick Scott will be the honorary player for the 2019 outstanding sportsmanship class. The Virginia native wrapped up his final season with the Nittany Lions this past fall and has moved on to the next level in the NFL.
