No one needed to say that Penn State football’s running back group carried some of the top guys in the nation over the last two seasons. It’s obvious to everyone that this unit was special. Saquon Barkley became an all-time great at Penn State and appears headed on the same path in the NFL. A year after his departure, junior running back Miles Sanders proved his five-star status, rushing for 1,274 yards and nine touchdowns on 5.8 yards per carry in his only year as a starter.
Although he started only one year in Happy Valley, he made big plays with his limited carries.
