Penn State will have a new look on defense for the 2019 season with several key players moving on from last year’s roster. Several players, both new and old, will have a chance to see the field and make an impact for the Nittany Lions. True freshman Keaton Ellis is a talented recruit and will compete for some early playing time.
Amani Oruwariye, a starting cornerback last year, is now in the NFL, so there’s an opening at cornerback. Fifth-year senior John Reid is returning in 2019 and will certainly lock down one of the starting positions.
There are a number of guys who could win the second starting job.
