The special teams unit for the Penn State football team got a boost with the addition of Virginia Tech transfer kicker/punter Jordan Stout. The former Hokie moves to the Nittany Lions as a redshirt sophomore and is immediately eligible to play in the 2019 season.
Stout will get to compete with starting kicker Jake Pinegar and kickoff man Rafael Checa and could compete for the starting punting job in 2020, according to a quote in 247Sports’ story. There’s no chance at the punting job with All-American Blake Gillikin.
He’ll definitely battle for both kicking jobs though.
