Penn State head football coach James Franklin met with the media on Monday to discuss the current state of his team heading into the start of spring practice. The Nittany Lions are entering their third season with Franklin at the helm, and several key positions have some question marks and new faces heading into the new season.
Perhaps the biggest change for the Nittany Lions this season is at quarterback.
Gone is three-year starter Christian Hackenberg. His heir is somewhere in the trio of Trace McSorley, Tommy Stevens, and Jake Zembiec. Franklin wouldn’t commit to a date for naming his starter, and didn’t sound like he’s going to rush to any decisions either.
