Penn State football hosts first high school camp of the offseason

Under the direction of head coach James Franklin and his staff, high school prospects — and possibly future Nittany Lions — showcased their skills and learned a thing or two Saturday afternoon.

Penn State football hosted its first Elite Camp of the offseason on Saturday afternoon at the Lasch Building practice field and Holuba Hall. Penn State is scheduled to hold two more Elite Camps on June 11 and 16.

The no-helmet, no-pad camps are designed to teach high school players within their specific position groups.

Offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead, pulling off a Penn State bucket hat, instructed the quarterbacks with reserve signal-caller Jake Zembiec, while Juwan Johnson, Irvin Charles and KJ Hamler helped out the wide receiver group.
