After going for a week without a wide receivers coach, Penn State announced on Wednesday that the position had been filled. Gerad Parker was named the new wide receivers coach for the Nittany Lions.
Penn State’s wide receivers really struggled this seasons, particularly with drops. There were too many instances where a drive could have been kept alive, but a drop from a wide receiver caused it to stall. Overall, the Nittany Lions dropped a remarkable 37 passes.
Head coach James Franklin fired wide receivers coach David Corley a day after losing in the Citrus Bowl. Corley spent just one season in Happy Valley after coming over from Army.
