Penn State football has had the luxury of very talented tight ends for the past few seasons. Mike Gesicki turned into a very valuable piece of the offense during his final two seasons with the Nittany Lions, and fortunately, the coaching staff has been able to stock up with more talent at the tight end position.
Heading into last year, there was a bit of a question as to who would replace Gesicki, but a true freshman quickly stood out and made his mark.
Pat Freiermuth, a four-star recruit and the No. 9 tight end in the 2018 recruiting class, developed into a big part of Penn State’s offensive gameplan.
