One of the best kept secrets in college football is the Penn State football defensive line. No double-digit sack master or even one defensive end with six sacks, but this defense stays after quarterbacks. It starts with a stacked defense that racked up 42 sacks in 2017. The defensive line carried the biggest chunk of that production including young pass rushers like sophomore Shaka Toney.
After redshirting in 2016, he put up an all-conference freshman year last fall. He rolled up 17 tackles, six for loss and was tied for second in sacks with 3.5. He did that as mostly a situational speed rusher off the edge.
