Still with the hope of landing in a New Year’s Six bowl, Penn State had to end the season with a win over Maryland in order to make that a reality. The Nittany Lions came out of the gate hot and never looked back. In what was one of the easier victories of the season, Penn State went into College Park and left with a commanding 66-3 win.
Penn State got two scores in the first quarter on quarterback runs. The first was a 21-yard run by backup Tommy Stevens and the second came from starter Trace McSorley.
