With both starting defensive ends from a year ago gone to the NFL, — Evan Schwan and Garrett Sickels — the door will be open for other guys to step up. Shareef Miller was an important part of the rotation in 2016 and is looking at an even bigger role in 2017.
A native of Philadelphia and a standout at George Washington High School, Miller was a three-star member of the 2015 recruiting class. He had an impressive offer sheet that included Michigan State, Oregon, Nebraska, and Florida.
He was given a redshirt his first year in Happy Valley and had time to grow and develop.
