History was made on Saturday afternoon at the PIAA Class 2A Wrestling Championships when Jefferson-Morgan’s Gavin Teasdale captured the 126-pound title — his fourth state championship.
The Penn State commit became just the 13th wrestler to accomplish the feat. He joins a group that includes former Nittany Lions wrestlers Cary Kolat and Jimmy Gulibon.
“Its been a goal since I was younger,” Teasdale said of all the titles. “I put it in a notebook: four-time state champ, undefeated.”
Providing a link to the past, Teasdale’s head gear during his 2-0 win over Saucon Valley’s Joshua Jones was given to him by Gulibon, who wore it for his fourth title.
