After a dominant win to close out the regular season, and an upset loss by a conference foe, Penn State gained one more spot in the polls.
The Nittany Lions went up to third in the Associated Press and Coaches Polls after a 44-7 shellacking of Maryland . Big Ten teams in the rankings include top-ranked and lone unbeaten Oregon, Ohio State, who dropped five spots to seventh in the AP, and six spots to eighth in the Coaches after their upset loss to Michigan. Joining Penn State and Ohio State in the top 10 is 9th ranked Indiana, while 21st ranked Illinois rounds out the Big Ten teams.
