STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — Penn State officials are beefing up security at Saturday’s football game and other larger events in the wake of the terror attacks in Paris.
There are no known threats to the game against Michigan — the final home game for 19 Penn State seniors — but the school decided to increase security anyway.
One change is that gates to Beaver Stadium will open at 10 a.m. for the noon game, 30 minutes earlier than usual. That’s to give staff more time to search fans as they enter.
Fans and employees will be required to open their outerwear, and security guards will pat down those entering the stadium.
