In recent times, the Blue-White game has become the perfect weekend to host transfer portal prospects on the heels of the dead period ending, and this weekend is no different. For now, we have one confirmed visitor: rising junior Jordan Derkack (6-foot-5, 205 pounds), previously of Merrimack.
Derkack wracked up the accolades while at Merrimack, winning both the NEC player of the year award and the NEC defensive player of the year award. The latter certainly makes Mike Rhoades mouth water, given his defensive background.
What Derkack lacks though is much of a jumper. Basically everything he does is at or around the rim, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but when it comes to guards making the move from a conference like the NEC to one like the Big Ten, that outside shot needs to fall.
