With a clear Philadelphia flair on Penn State’s basketball roster, it made since for the Nittany Lions to play a “home” game in the City of Brotherly Love. Penn State met with the Michigan State Spartans Saturday at the famous Palestra and left with a 72-63 win.
There are six players on the roster from the Philadelphia area, with a trio of talented freshman from inside the city limits.
It was that Philadelphia connection which helped Penn State be successful Saturday. Former high school teammates Tony Carr and Lamar Stevens both had huge games.
Stevens led the scoring on both teams with 18 points.
